Possible New Mechanism Behind Psychiatric Disorders?

I read recently that one school of thought is that the way in which antidepressants work is by facilitating neurogenesis, which partially explains the delayed onset of effect. Is it possible, given the above article, that part of their mechanism of action is reducing wbc allowing these new neurons to flourish? Could it also partially explain why so often psychiatric disorders are triggered by a bout of infection, during which there is an increase in white blood cells?
