Post-Partum Psychiatric Episodes

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/12/111205165853.htm

The possibility of sleep disruption and hormonal changes are often cited as potential causes for post-partum psychiatric problems.

If you subscribe to my thoughts about instability in blood vessel tone leading to psychosis, is it not possible that the readjustment of the circulatory system following childbirth is a candidate for a cause here?

If the heart and blood vessels have had nine months to adjust to the pressure and tone needed to supply blood to a foetus, and suddenly that is taken away, the rebound adjustment in those with vessels less able to adapt over such a short period of time could lead to fluctuations of the type I have outlined in earlier posts.
